ST CHARLES LAWANGA BIANNUAL CULTURAL SHOW

On the 10th of July 2024, St. Charles Lwanga Secondary School held its biannual cultural show. Mr. Alex Puki, Manager of Research at the Policy, Research, and Regulatory Division of the National Cultural Commission, represented the Executive Director of the Commission Mr. Steven Enomb Kilanda.

Mr Puki said “I’m honored to speak on behalf of Mr. Steven Ebomb Kilanda, from the National Cultural Commission. It’s a privilege to be here at St. Charles Lwanga Secondary School, a place that values and protects Papua New Guinea’s diverse cultures.

Papua New Guinea is rich in traditions, languages, and customs, which are treasures we must cherish and pass down to future generations. The National Cultural Commission works hard to preserve and celebrate these diverse identities.

I applaud St. Charles Lwanga Secondary School for its commitment to preserving PNG’s cultural heritage. By creating an environment that respects our different cultures, you’re not only shaping future leaders but also ensuring our traditions thrive.

As students here, you play a vital role as ambassadors of PNG’s cultural legacy. Your actions and choices are key in promoting our rich traditions.

As we enjoy the Biannual Cultural Show, let’s celebrate the hard work put in by everyone. This event not only showcases your talents but also raises funds for important school projects.
Together, let’s keep PNG’s culture strong and connected, honoring the values passed down by our ancestors.”
