In the evolving landscape of public service, the year 2025 witnesses a unique and transformative period for the Papua New Guinea National Cultural Commission.
To begin the year, Senior Managers and Staff of NCC, together with the Officers from the Office of the Minister for Tourism Arts and Culture, held its first ever dedication service on Thursday, 13th of February 2025.
The dedication service was held at the Commission’s Head Office in Port Moresby.
The joint service was led by Pastor Joel Mondo from the Makana Seventh Day Adventist Church.
NCC Executive Director, Mr. Steven Enomb Kilanda stated, dedication in the office is a commitment to work and tasks and a desire to produce high-quality results in such challenging times.
“It is fitting that we have this dedication service. It’s the first dedication service for the Commission, and it is going to be a yearly program and be part of our annual calendar. This date,13th of February, will be included in the NCC calendar as the permanent date for NCC to have its dedication service”, said Mr. Kilanda.
“I encourage all of us to give our lives to Christ, renewing our Christian values, principles, and beliefs. Christianity is our way of life. Thus, let us all keep in our prayers the organisation we serve, our family, and as individuals.
I want all divisional heads from each division to put in place a timetable or daily schedules for officers’ staff to have morning devotions at least once in a week,” said Mr Kilanda.
He said, “we live in a Christian country, and so we must acknowledge our creator.”
“It is better to be under the direction and guidance of the creator than to be on our own”, he added.
A bible each was provided to the four divisions that are under NCC, including the Office of the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
Mr Steven Enomb Kilanda also presented a Holy Bible each to the three Cultural Institutions under National Cultural Commission: The Institute of PNG Studies (IPNGS) in Boroko, NCD and National Film Institute (NFI) and National Performing Arts Troupe (NPAT) based Goroka, Eastern Highlands.
